Huskies close out three-game homestand

The Northeastern men's hockey team looks to keep the Matthews Arena momentum going in the third installment of NU's three-game homestand when the Huskies entertain Providence College on Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. Northeastern is looking for its fourth consecutive win against the Friars; its longest winning streak against PC since Nov. 12, 1985 - Oct. 24, 1986. Friday's game will broadcast live on Huskies Radio 1330 AM and WRBB Sports 104.9 FM. The game will also be streamed live on GoNU.TV. Live stats will be available at game time.

Huskies return to Providence for rematch with Friars
Women's Hockey 11/20/09
The No. 9 Northeastern Huskies (8-2-2, 4-1-2-1 Hockey East) return to Providence for the second time in 12 days for a rematch with the Friars (4-5-5, 3-2-3-2 Hockey East) tonight at Schneider Arena at 7 p.m. On Nov. 8, the Huskies and Friars played to a 1-1 draw, before Providence downed NU in a grueling 13-round shootout to earn an extra conference point. Northeastern and Providence are currently tied for first place in Hockey East, although the Huskies have one game in hand.

Huskies host Utah State Saturday at noon
Men's Basketball 11/21/09
The Huskies play their first game at newly renovated Matthews Arena Saturday against Utah State at 12 p.m. The Aggies come to town fresh off a 30-5 season and have reached postseason play every year since 1999. The Huskies are playing Utah State for just the second time ever, beating the Aggies in the Great Alaska Shootout in 1986. Saturday's game will broadcast live on WRBB Radio, 104.9 FM. Free streaming audio will be available through the Husky Sports Network Audio, and live streaming video will be available at GoNU.TV. Saturday will mark the debut of the new "N-Zone" courtside student seating, and the first 500 students in the seats will receive an N-Zone t-shirt.

Three Huskies earn NFHCA All-Region honors
Field Hockey 11/19/09
Freshman Crystal Poland and sophomores Kaela Barker and Carolyn Malloy were named to the 2009 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Region teams, as announced Thursday. Poland and Barker earned spots on the All-Northeast Region first team, while Malloy was named to the second team. This is the third straight year that Northeastern has placed at least three players on the All-Northeast Region teams.

Fenway doubleheader to be televised on NESN
Women's Hockey 11/19/09
The Hockey East doubleheader at Fenway Park on Jan. 8, 2010 will be
televised live on NESN in high-definition, as announced by the conference today. Coverage of
the event will begin at 4 p.m. with the Huskies' game against the
University of New Hampshire and will conclude six and a half hours
later after the Boston University/Boston College men's game.

Anding honored by Top Drawer Soccer
Men's Soccer 11/19/09
Freshman forward Don Anding was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's All-Rookie first team, the site announced Thursday. The honor comes after Anding had already been named to the All-CAA first team and All-Rookie teams and was honored as CAA Rookie of the Year last week. He is the only player in the conference to earn All-Rookie first team honors.

Huskies down Delaware State 66-46
Women's Basketball 11/18/09
Kendra Walton scored 16 points and added seven rebounds while Rachael
Pecota scored 12 first half points to lead Northeastern past Delaware
State 66-46 on Wednesday night. Northeastern held Delaware State to
just 25 percent shooting, handing the Hornets their first home loss in
nearly a year. The Huskies improve to 1-1 on the season and return to
action on Saturday, November 21 taking on Rhode Island at Matthews
Arena.

Hager at New England Football Writers luncheon

Huskies fans can hear head coach Rocky Hager talk football each week at the New England Football Writers luncheon. The event takes place every Wednesday during the football season at Harvard's Dillon Field House and gives New England football teams an opportunity to address the media.
