David Gustafson named NECBL All-Star.
Huskies center fielder David Gustafson has been named to the 2009 New England Collegiate Baseball League Eastern Division All-Star team it was announced on Thursday. Gustafson plays for the Lowell All-Americans and currently has a .239 batting average with 10 doubles and one home run. Gustafson, who has started every game for the All-Americans this season, leads the team with 14 runs.
During the 2009 Huskies season Gustafson hit .276 with a team-high 18 doubles. He started every game at center for the Huskies and had a perfect fielding-percentage making 128 putouts. The 2010 season will be Gustafson's senior season.
The 2009 NECBL All-Star game will be held on Saturday July 18 at MacKenzie Stadium in Holyoke, Mass. First pitch will be at 6:30 p.m.
