Friedman Diamond (Brookline, MA)

Northeastern fell to visiting Harvard 10-8 on Wednesday afternoon at Friedman Diamond. The Huskies looked to be in control, leading 6-1 heading into the top of the seventh, but that's when the Crimson bats came alive and produced nine runs over the next two innings to pull out the come-from-behind victory.

Trailing 6-1 in the top of the seventh, Chris Mackey led off with a single for Harvard. Ian Wallace (2-5, 3 RBI) followed with a home run off NU starter Jim Madison to cut the deficit to 6-3. After Morgan Brown flied out, both Bryan Hale and Lance Salsgiver walked, chasing Madison. Paul Kozlowski came on and allowed a single to Zak Farkes, loading the bases for pinch-hitter Schuyler Mann. Mann singled to right, scoring Hale. Trey Hendricks kept the rally going, doubling to left-center, scoring two and tying the game, 6-6.

The Crimson added four more in the top of the eighth, all charged to Kozlowski, as it was Mann (2-2, 3 RBI) who came up with a big bases loaded double to right, scoring two and giving Harvard the lead for good.

NU got on the board in the third inning when Omar Pena hit a one-out homer, his first of the season. Jeff Maher then reached on an error, moved to third on a Tim Bush single and came in to score on a wild pitch.

After Harvard made it a 2-1 game in the top of the fifth, NU posted four runs in the bottom of the inning. Arman Sidhu started the uprising with a single, followed by a Pena single. Maher then reached on another Crimson error to load the bases for Bush, who delivered a two-run single. Jeff Heriot followed with an RBI single and Bush later scored on a wild pitch for the 6-1 edge.

The Huskies were led by Bush who went 3-4 on the day and added a pair of RBIs. Arman Sidhu went 3-5 and is now 8-14 over his last three games. NU falls to 6-12 on the season. The Huskies will travel to Maine for a pair of doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
