Maine 8, Northeastern 2 (game 2)
The Black Bears took an early lead, scoring three runs on three hits and two errors in the first inning. Brett Ouellette doubled to right center to bring in Mike Livulpi, who led off the inning with a single to left field. Aaron Izaryk hit an RBI single to score Ouellette, and Izaryk scored on a sacrifice fly by Alain Picard.
Northeastern scored its first run in the top of the second when Tim Bush scored on a passed ball. The Black Bears added to their lead in the third inning when Ouellette scored off another Northeastern error for a 4-1 lead.
Northeastern scored its second run in the fifth when Brad Czarnowski hit an RBI single up the middle to score Chris Emanuele, who had doubled to left field. The Black Bears scored a run in the fifth when Picard reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded.
Maine continued to add to its lead in the sixth inning, scoring three runs on four hits off NU starter Jordan Thomson. He went the distance for the Huskies, falling to 1-4.
The Huskies and Black Bears will meet again on Saturday in another doubleheader. NU falls to 7-13 overall and 2-4 in America East action with the loss.

Mahaney Diamond (Orono, ME)In the second game of a doubleheader, Maine defeated Northeastern 8-2, to earn a split. Black Bear starter Mike Collar struck out 10 batters and walked none, picking up his fifth win of the season in the win.
