| 2004 Schedule/Results Stony Brook 13, Northeastern 3
Devin Monds started and took the loss for NU after spotting the Seawolves seven runs in the
first two innings. Monds (3-3) went 3-1/3 innings, allowing nine runs on eight hits and five
walks. Stony Brook's Matt Restivo (1-0) got the win in his second start of the season. He held
NU to two runs on three hits and five walks over six innings. Restivo struck out five batters.
Three homers into Stony Brook's bullpen in left field gave the Seawolves a 4-0
advantage after half an inning. Stony Brook center fielder Andrew Larson hit Monds' first pitch
over the left field wall for his team-leading sixth homerun. Four batters later, Kevin Solano
and Nick Theoharis hit back-to-back bombs. Solano's homer was a two-run shot.
Stony Brook started the second inning with three-straight hits. The third was an RBI-single by
Cole Cicatelli. A wild pitch and an error allowed two more runs to cross the plate. Solano hit
his second two-run homer of the day in the fourth inning. Monds was then relieved by Dave
Pellegrine, who allowed two runs over 2-2/3 innings. Tristan Besse pitched the final three innings, allowing two runs.
Northeastern scored a pair of runs in the third inning. Restivo walked the bases loaded to start
the inning. Mike Steinberg then hit a grounder to third that Theoharis bobbled, allowing
everyone to move up safely. Two batters later, Chris Emanuele hit a sac-fly to center field that
scored Milano.
NU started the seventh with a single and a walk to start off the seventh inning. Restivo was
then relieved by John Henkel, who induced a line-out and a double play to end the inning. The Huskies put one run on the board in the bottom of the ninth when Miguel Paquette scored on an error by Stony Brook's shortstop.
Northeastern looks to get back on the winning track at Boston College on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Stony Brook 13 (15-19,3-6) Player AB R H RBI BB SO PO A LOB ------------------------------------------------------ Larsen, A cf............. 6 2 3 1 0 0 3 0 0 Devins, M ss............. 6 2 2 0 0 0 1 4 3 Cicatelli, C c........... 3 2 1 1 3 0 5 2 0 Fortuna, I lf............ 4 2 1 1 1 1 2 0 1 Solano, K rf............. 4 2 2 4 1 0 0 0 1 Leonard, R ph/rf........ 1 0 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 Theoharis, N 3b.......... 3 3 1 1 2 0 1 0 0 Michalek, J ph.......... 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Bernard, B 3b........... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 Sipp, C 2b............... 3 0 3 0 2 0 1 3 0 Brumfield, W dh.......... 3 0 2 2 1 0 0 0 2 Mischo, D 1b............. 4 0 0 0 0 0 13 0 4 Restivo p................ 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 Henkel, J p............. 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 Abel, N p............... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 Totals................... 38 13 15 10 10 2 27 13 11 Northeastern 3 (16-13,5-4) Player AB R H RBI BB SO PO A LOB ------------------------------------------------------ Mike Steinberg dh........ 5 0 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 Arman Sidhu ss........... 4 0 0 0 1 1 4 4 1 Chris Emanuele rf........ 4 0 0 1 0 0 2 0 5 Jeff Heriot cf........... 4 0 0 0 0 1 2 0 2 Tim Bush 3b.............. 4 0 1 0 0 1 1 3 0 Jeff Maher 2b............ 4 0 0 0 0 1 1 3 0 Miguel Paquette 1b....... 3 2 1 0 1 2 12 0 1 Dan Milano c............. 3 1 1 0 1 0 2 0 0 Brad Czarnowski lf....... 1 0 1 0 3 0 3 0 0 Devin Monds p............ 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 Dave Pellegrine p....... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 Tristan Besse p......... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Totals................... 32 3 4 3 6 6 27 12 9 Score by Innings R H E ------------------------------------------- Stony Brook......... 430 301 101 - 13 15 4 Northeastern........ 002 000 001 - 3 4 2 ------------------------------------------- E - Devins, M; Theoharis, N 2; Bernard, B; Paquette(1); Milano(2).
