Heriot got the Huskies (17-15, 6-4) on the board in the second when he clubbed a long home run to left. It was his team-leading sixth round-tripper of the year.
Junior Miguel Paquette widened the lead to 3-0 in the fifth with a two-run single to center, plating Heriot and Czarnowski.
The Retrievers (10-27, 3-7) got one back in the bottom of that inning when Stan Hess singled home Kevin Brooks, making it 3-1.
Czarnowski’s RBI single in the eighth rounded out the scoring.
Thomson struck out five and walked just one in improving his record to 6-2.

Friedman Diamond (Brookline, Mass.)Senior Jordan Thomson scattered eight hits en route to his fifth complete game of the season, and senior Brad Czarnowski and junior Jeff Heriot had two hits apiece as Northeastern took the front end of a doubleheader from UMBC, 4-1, Saturday afternoon at Friedman Diamond.
