Northeastern 9, Holy Cross 2
Sidhu’s double hit the wall in left center, scoring sophomore Mike Lyon and seniors Brian Nutting and Chris Emanuele and putting the Huskies up 4-0. Freshman Mike Tamsin followed with a single to score Sidhu. After junior Dan Milano hit a ground-rule double, senior Jeff Maher popped up to second base, but Tucker Frawley dropped the ball, allowing Tamsin and Milano to score and make it 6-0, NU.
The Huskies (6-6) added two runs in the seventh inning on back-to-back RBI singles by Sidhu and Tamsin. NU scored its first run of the game back in the fifth inning on a Milano RBI single.
The top of the Huskies’ lineup did all the damage today. Emanuele, Sidhu, Tamsin and Milano combined to go 10-16 with seven RBI and seven runs scored.
Smith (3-0) benefitted from the offensive outburst. He went the first five innings, silencing the Crusaders’ bats. He allowed just four hits and no walks while recording his career-high nine strikeouts.
Freshman Jeff Thomson, junior Tristan Besse, and freshman Aaron Greenblatt combined to throw the final four innings for the Huskies.
Dan Seip (2-1) took the loss for Holy Cross (7-6) after allowing four runs in 5-2/3 innings.
The Huskies are back in action tomorrow versus Boston College at Friedman Diamond at 3 p.m. Sophomore Bobby Carrington will pitch for NU.

Friedman Diamond (Brookline, Mass.)Senior Arman Sidhu’s bases-clearing double started a six-run sixth inning and freshman Trevor Smith recorded nine strikeouts in five innings as the Northeastern baseball team romped to a 9-2 win over Holy Cross Tuesday afternoon at Friedman Diamond.
