The Huskies (11-9, 6-2 CAA) scored four runs in third inning to take the lead, which they held to the end. Senior Chris Emanuele got NU on the board with a homer to right-center, his third of the season. Senior Arman Sidhu followed with a double and freshman Mike Tamsin reached base when he was hit by a pitch. Junior Dan Milano then singled to right to load the bases.
With senior Matt Morizio batting, UNCW pitcher Thomas Benton (4-4) uncorked a wild pitch, allowing Sidhu to score. Morizio then grounded out to bring home Tamsin. Senior Jeff Maher followed with a RBI double down the right field line to score Milano and give the Huskies a 4-3 lead.
That was all Pellegrine (3-2) needed as he settled down, scattering just six hits in his final 6-2/3 innings. For the game, he allowed three runs on 10 hits, walking one and striking out a career-high 10 batters. Pellegrine threw over 140 pitches.
In the ninth inning, Morizio relieved Pellegrine with two outs and got Jason Appel to fly out to end the game. Morizio earned his fourth save of the season.
Benton took the hard-luck loss for the Seahawks (21-8, 4-4 CAA) after pitching a complete game and striking out eight batters while allowing four runs on eight hits.
The Huskies will look for the sweep tomorrow afternoon. The game time has been changed from 1:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.. Starting pitchers are Zach Booker for the Seahawks and Kris Dabrowiecki for the Huskies.

Friedman Diamond (Brookline, Mass.)After allowing three runs in the second inning, junior Dave Pellegrine shut out UNC Wilmington over his final 6-2/3 innings as the Huskies knocked off the Seahawks for the second day in a row 4-3 Saturday afternoon at Friedman Diamond.
