Senior Chris Emanuele hit an RBI double in that ninth inning to close the gap to one run, but senior Arman Sidhu popped out with runners on second and third to end the threat.
Emanuele was 3-5 with two doubles on the day. His second hit was his 216th, breaking the Northeastern all-time hits record of 215, set by former Husky shortstop Kevin Kim.
The Pride (20-27-1, 9-16 CAA) got all three of their runs in the sixth inning off of NU starter Adam Ottavino. With Ricky Caputo on third base, Mike Walsh singled to center for one run. After a Josh Stern double put runners on second and third, Steve Oliveri hit a two-run single to right to give the Pride a 3-1 lead.
The Huskies (21-18, 14-8 CAA) hit the ball hard, but did not get many breaks. The team left nine men on base. Besides their run in the ninth, the Huskies scored their other run in the fourth inning on an RBI double by junior Dan Milano.
Ottavino (4-4) suffered his second straight defeat after pitching eight innings and allowing three runs on eight hits. He walked two and struck out eight batters.
Ryan Dunn (5-4) earned the win for the Pride after limiting NU to one run over six innings. Denlea earned his fifth save of the year.
The Huskies and Pride meet again tomorrow at 1 p.m. on Senior Day. Northeastern will honor its five seniors, Chris Emanuele, Jeff Maher, Matt Morizio, Brian Nutting and Arman Sidhu, in a pre-game ceremony. The pitching matchup will pit NU's Dave Pellegrine against Hofstra's Will DeVito.

Friedman Diamond (Brookline, MA)The Northeastern baseball team trailed 3-1 going into the bottom of the ninth and started a rally, getting the tying run to third base, but Hofstra's Jeff Denlea stopped the rally and closed out the Pride's 3-2 win Friday afternoon at Friedman Diamond.
