Connecticut 7, Northeastern 1
Senior Chris Emanuele scored NU's only run when he homered to left in the sixth inning off of UConn starter John Slusarz (4-1).
Slusarz went six innings and yielded just two hits to earn the win.
Sophomore Mitch Duggins (1-1) started for the Huskies (22-20) and allowed three runs on five hits over three innings.
UConn (31-15-1) put the game away in the fourth inning with three runs off of sophomore Bobby Carrington.
The win marked UConn's 10th straight over the Huskies. NU has not beaten Connecticut since 1996.
The Huskies will travel to Richmond, Va. for a crucial three-game series with Virginia Commonwealth, beginning Saturday at 9 a.m. The Huskies lead the Rams for third place in the CAA standings by one game.
