| 2006 Schedule/Results James Madison 5, Northeastern 0
The loss eliminates the Huskies from the CAA Tournament. They finish the 2006 season with a 27-23 record in a year in which they surprised most of the CAA by finishing in third place with a 19-10 mark.
James Madison (38-19) took a 1-0, first-inning lead when the Dukes had runners on first and third and completed a double steal of home, bringing in Joe Lake.
Michael Cowgill homered in the third inning to put JMU up 2-0.
Twice, the Huskies had second and third with no outs and an opportunity to tie the game. In the second inning, freshman Mike Tamsin was hit by a pitch and sophomore Josh Porter doubled. Then Arman Sidhu hit a flyball to right that was caught by Mitchell Moses, who threw home. Though it appeared Tamsin was safe at the plate, the umpire ruled him out. Brian Nutting then flew out to right to end the inning.
In the fifth, Sidhu singled through the left side and Nutting doubled to left to start the inning. However, Mike Lyon grounded out to third base, Chris Emanuele popped out to shortstop and senior Matt Morizio grounded out to shortstop to end the threat.
Rob Altieri added a run for the Dukes in the sixth when he singled in Moses. Kellen Kulbacki broke the game open with a two-run homer to center in the seventh.
Though the Huskies had 11 hits, they left 10 men on base.
Pellegrine (6-5) pitched a complete game and allowed five runs on eight hits. He walked four and tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts. In his seven innings, Nesbitt (6-3) scattered nine hits, walking one and fanning four batters.
The game marked the final time that seniors Chris Emanuele, Jeff Maher, Matt Morizio, Brian Nutting and Arman Sidhu will play in a Husky uniform.
