Huskies fall one run short against Old Dominion

The game started out as a pitcher's duel between Jeff Thomson and ODU's Anthony Shawler before the game broke open in the late innings. Thomson was strong overall, going 6+ innings, striking out six and walking only one Monarch batter.
Tony DiCesare, Mike Tamsin, Josh Porter and David Gustafson all had multiple-hit games for the Huskies, led by DiCesare, who went 3-5 with a double and a run scored. Tamsin and Milano also extended their hitting streaks to nine games apeice.
The Huskies will try to salvage one game in the series as they face off against the Monarchs for the final game of the series at Friedman Diamond on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
