Huskies complete sweep with 7-5 win
Captain Dan Milano capped-off an outstanding offensive week with his second 4-5 showing of the weekend. In the Huskies' four games this week, Milano hit .667 (12-18) with three home runs, 10 RBI, six runs scored and a double.
Frank Pesanello and captain Josh Porter continued their hot work with the bat as well. Pesanello went 3-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, while Porter had a 2-5 showing at the plate.
Trevor Smith started for the Huskies and struck out eight batters over 5-2/3 innings. Sheldon McDonald picked up his first career win, as he came in to pitch 1-2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Fellow freshman Ryan Quigley worked a scoreless ninth to notch his third save of the season.
The win moves the Huskies to 12-9 on the season and 8-6 in the CAA. The Dukes drop to 10-22 overall and 4-10 in the conference. The Huskies return home to Friedman Diamond on Tuesday when they host Holy Cross. First pitch is at 3 p.m.
