Huskies top Winthrop Eagles, 3-2 in game one of a doubleheader
Kris Dabrowiecki improved to 5-1 on the season after an excellent 7-1/3 innings of work in which he gave up six hits, one run and struck out three against an Eagle lineup that entered the game at 8-1 in the Big South. Bobby Carrinton pitched the final 1-2/3 innings to pick up his first career save.
The Husky bats came alive in the third inning, when Mike Tamsin drove home Brendan Stokes with a single. The bats then remained quiet until the seventh, when James Donaldson and Frank Compagnone hit back-to-back doubles to lead off the inning, breaking a 1-1 tie. Finally, with two down in the inning, David Gustafson hit a single to score Compagnone from second, which ended up being the winning run for the Huskies.
The win puts the Huskies at 14-9 on the season and drops the Eagles to 22-16.

Winthrop Ballpark (Rock Hill, SC)The Northeastern baseball team took game one of a doubleheader, 3-2, against the Winthrop Eagles on Friday in Rock Hill, S.C. Dan Milano kept his hitting streak alive at 16 games, leaving him just two games shy of tying Chris Emanuele's school record 18-game streak.
