Huskies top Georgia State, 6-4
Senior captain Dan Milano saw his hitting streak end at a Husky-redord 19 games, as he went 0-3 with a walk, but he still made his presence felt as he ended the game by throwing out the Panthers' Matt Van Horn as he attempted to steal second base.
Husky ace Kris Dabrowiecki was strong on the mound once again as he improved to 6-1 on the season after pitching seven-plus innings of seven-hit, three-run, eight-strike out ball.
Mike Tamsin was 2-4 with two RBI and two runs scored to lead the Huskies offensively. He hit a two-run triple to drive in the Huskies' runs and then scored on a wild pitch to put the Huskies up 3-0 after the third inning. The Huskies scored three more runs in the sixth, paced by Tony DiCesare's leadoff double down the right field line. DiCesare was 2-4 on the day with two runs scored.
The win improves the Huskies to 18-9 overall and 9-6 in the CAA. The Panthers drop to 19-19 overall and 8-8 in the conference. The teams face off again on Saturday at 12 p.m. as Jeff Thomson (4-2) takes on the Panthers' Will Palmer at Friedman Diamond.
