Huskies fall to Panthers, 7-4, end streak
The Panthers scored two runs in the first inning on a pair of doubles by Jean-Michel Rochon-Salvas and Luke Gordon and never lost the lead.
The Huskies got on the board in the fourth inning after a leadoff double from Mike Lyon and a single from James Donaldson. Lyon was able to score on Donaldson's single after Panthers' right fielder Matt Van Horn bobbled the ball on a hop.
The Huskies came back in the seventh to score two quick runs after Josh Porter, Brendan Stokes and Anthony DiCesare started off the inning with two doubles and a single. The Huskies were then able to load the bases with no one out in the inning, but were only able to pick up one more run as the comeback effort fell short.
Jeff Thomson started the game for the Huskies and went seven innings, giving up 11 hits and five earned runs, while striking out six. Sheldon McDonald pitched two scoreless innings of relief to finish the game.
The loss drops the Huskies to 18-10 overall and 9-7 in the CAA. The Panthers improve to 20-19 overall and 10-9 in the conference. The rubber game will take place at 1:30 on Sunday at Friedman Diamond.

Friedman Diamond (Brookline, MA)The Northeastern University baseball team saw its nine-game winning streak end on Saturday, as Georgia State defeated the Huskies, 7-4, at Friemdan Diamond. It was the Huskies' first loss since April 3, when NU dropped a 10-3 decision to Boston College.
