Huskies fall to Pride, 5-2
The Pride started the game out hot, scoring four runs in the first three innings to chase Husky starter Jeff Thomson out of the game. Sheldon McDonald relieved Thomson and allowed just five hits and one run in the final five innings, but the Huskies' comeback effort fell three runs short.
The Huskies finally got on the board in the sixth inning with Tamsin's homer, a solo shot to left-center field. NU scored one more run in the eighth after Tony DiCesare hit a two-out double with the bases empty and Mike Lyon knocked him home with a single.
The Huskies drop to 23-19 overall and 11-14 in the conference, while the Pride improve to 19-35 overall and 10-18 overall. The rubber game of the series will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m. Trevor Smith (5-3) takes the mound for the Huskies.

University Field (Hempstead, NY)Mike Tamsin homered for the third straight game, but the Northeastern University baseball team dropped the second game of a three-game series to Hofstra, 5-2, at University Field on Saturday afternoon.
