Huskies lose to Pride in pitchers' duel
Smith pitched 8-1/3 innings of six-hit, two-run, six-strikeout ball, while Rogers went 8 innings and allowed two runs on seven hits to go along with six strikeouts. Both pitchers ended up with no decisions as Ryan Quigley took the loss and Jeff Denlea picked up the win for the Pride.
The Huskies got to Rogers for two runs in the second inning before he shut them down for the remainder of the game. Frank Pesanello, Frank Compagnone and James Donaldson hit consecutive singles to score the first run and then Garrett Chin bunted Compagnone home on a squeeze play for the Huskies' second run.
Mike Tamsin led the Huskies offensively with three hits on the day.
The Huskies now stand at 23-20 on the season and 11-15 in the CAA. Hofstra improves to 20-34 overall and 11-18 in the conference. The Huskies will be back in action on Tuesday at 3 p.m. for a non-conference game at Maine.

University Field (Hempstead, NY)The Northeastern University baseball team lost the rubber game of a three-game series at Hofstra on Sunday afternoon, 3-2. Trevor Smith and Hofstra's Patrick Rogers provided an old-fashioned pitchers' duel for the 250 fans in attendance.
