Huskies drop to Miami (Ohio), 7-5

Chain of Lakes Park (Winter Haven, Fla.)

Things started tough for the Northeastern Huskies as they faced Miami (Ohio) University on Saturday morning. The Redhawks put up three runs in the first three innings and were getting great pitching but the Huskies battled back as the two teams faced-off in Winter Haven, Fla.

In the bottom of the third both Matt Miller and David Gustafson got on base and Mike Tamsin slammed a double to the left field fence which scored both Miller and Gustafson.

Northeastern scored another two runs in the six inning after Brendan Stokes reached on an error to bring Mike Tamsin and Frank Pesanello across to score. After the sixth the Huskies were trailing 5-4.

Miami would add two more runs in the seventh off Dan Zehr to increase their lead to 7-4 which would be too much for the Huskies to overcome as they Huskies would drop their first game since Feb., 25.

The Huskies are right back to work taking on Ohio State as part of a two game set in Winter Haven, Fla.
