Huskies fall to DBU in game one 12-2

Patriot Field (Dallas, Texas)

The Huskies traveled to Dallas, Texas to face Dallas Baptist University for three games starting with Friday's doubleheader. The Huskies dropped game one by a score of 12-2.

Dallas Baptist opened an early lead on Ryan Quigley and the Huskies when Ryan Goins hit a solo home run in the first. Quigley struck out two batters in the first inning.

The Huskies tied the game in the top of the fourth in when Frank Compagnone drove Mike Tamsin in from second. Tamsin led the inning with an infield single and was moved to second when James Donaldson grounded out to third. It was the third RBI of the season for Frank Compagnone who sat out the start of the year with an injury.

The Compagnone-Tamsin duo would strike again in the sixth inning when another Frank Compagnone single drove Mike Tamsin in from second. This time Tamsin got on base with a stand-up double to left. Compagnone would then drive the ball up the middle allowing Tamsin to come across giving the Huskies their first lead of the game.

Dallas Baptist would not be in the hole very long manufacturing ten runs over two innings making it an 11-2 ball game after seven full innings.

Ryan Quigley pitched six and one-third for the Huskies and limited the Patriots to only one run through the first five innings.

The Huskies take on DBU again in game two following a short break.
