Ryan Quigley drafted by Oakland Athletics
Huskies lefty Ryan Quigley was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday afternoon. Quigley was the 663rd player taken overall in the 22nd round. Quigley is the 30th Husky to be drafted and the 13th in the last 10 years. The Huskies have had at least one player drafted in each of the last four seasons.

James Donaldson named to NEIBA All-New England second team
Huskies senior second baseman James Donaldson has been named to the 2009 NEIBA All-New England second team it was announced Friday morning. Donaldson hit a career high .332 with a team leading .603 slugging percentage.

Huskies drop out of CAA Tournament to Delaware
The Huskies bowed out of the CAA Tournament on Thursday afternoon falling to the Delaware Blue Hens 9-5 in Wilmington, N.C. The Huskies were led by David Gustafson and James Donaldson, each with a pair of RBI. JT Ross pitched well in his three innings for work striking out three and allowing no hits. Northeastern's completes their season with a 28-25 record, 13-11 in the CAA. The Huskies graduate nine seniors.

Huskies fall to GSU in game one of CAA Tournament
The Huskies fell in game one of the CAA tournament by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday afternoon as the Georgia State Panthers walked off against the Huskies. NU had a lead going into the bottom of the eighth but were not able to hold on for the victory. Frank Compagnone gave the Huskies the lead with a two-out two-RBI single in the top of the eighth. NU will face Delaware at 12 p.m. on Thursday.

Trevor Smith and Matt Miller selected to All-CAA teams
At the end of season banquet held Tuesday evening two Huskies were honored by a vote of the coaches. Trevor Smith was voted to the All-CAA second team as a relief pitcher and Matt Miller was named to the All-Rookie squad. The Huskies are making their first post-season appearance since the 2006 season starting with Wednesday's game against Georgia State.
