He was only 31. Montalbano won 19 games for the Huskies from 1997-2000 and ended his career as NU's strikeout king with 217. He was the America East Pitcher of the Year in 1999. He was a fifth-round pick of the Boston Red Sox in the 1999 MLB Draft and played in the Red Sox organization until 2004.
