Head coach Neil McPhee along with assistant coach Pat Mason and first year Northeastern assistant coach Mike Glavine will operate the Husky Babe Ruth baseball camp at Parsons Field/Friedman Diamond from July 23-26. The camp is for athletes ages 13-16.

This is the second year of the camp and is a progression from the very successful Husky little league age camps. Both Mason and Glavine were superb players at Northeastern in the 1990s and played on championship teams during that time. Mason was the catcher and captain of the 1996 and 1997 teams and played in the NCAA Tournament in 1994 and 1997. Glavine played first base and captained the 1995 team and also played on the 1994 NCAA Tournament team. Glavine, who is the brother of 10-time All-Star Tom Glavine of the New York Mets, was recently inducted into the Northeastern University Hall of Fame.

As with Northeastern's other camps and clinics, this clinic will be organized and structured to provide superb instruction in all the fundamentals of the game of baseball. We are committed to helping players develop into the best they can be at each level – youth, high school and college. At the same time, players will receive a four-day experience of college-level coaching and instruction at the Div. I level, as well as advice on the college search process they will be preparing in their future.

Head coach Neil McPhee along with assistant coach Pat Mason and first year Northeastern assistant coach Mike Glavine will operate the Husky hitting clinic for high school students Nov. 23-24 at the cage in the Cabot Gymnasium.

As with Northeastern's other camps and clinics, this clinic will be organized and structured to provide superb instruction in all the fundamentals of hitting. We are committed to helping players develop into the best they can be at each level.   At the same time, players will receive a 2-day experience of college-level coaching and instruction at the Div. I level as well as being educated on the college search process.   Our goal is to provide every player the opportunity to better themselves as hitters while learning what it takes to succeed at the next level. The camp WILL BE LIMITED to only 40 participants, this will ensure the maximum number of swings for each participant.

Head Coach Neil McPhee will supervise the clinic and the camp directors will be Assistant Coaches Patrick Mason, Mike Glavine, and Justin Gordon.   Both Mason and Glavine were superb players at Northeastern in the mid-nineties and played on championship teams during that time.   Mason was the catcher and captain of the 1996 and 1997 teams and played in the NCAA Regionals in 1994 and 1997.   Glavine played 1 st Base and captained the 1995 team and played on the 1994 regional team.   Glavine, who is the brother of future Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Glavine of the New York Mets, was recently inducted into the Northeastern University Hall of Fame.   1 st year Coach Justin Gordon completes the Northeastern University baseball staff. He comes to Northeastern with three years of coaching Div I experience after six years of playing experience in the minor leagues.   The rest of the staff will be made up of current Husky players.

After 20 years of the Huskies' very successful Winter Clinic, head coach Neil McPhee has decided to replace the Clinic with the Husky Winter Prospect Camp. This Camp will be directed toward underclassmen, grades 8-11 and undecided seniors. The new prospect camp will be extremely beneficial to players who are preparing for their upcoming seasons because it will allow them to showcase their skills prior to their high school seasons beginning, be evaluated and instructed by college coaches, who are compiling name lists of juniors, sophomores, freshmen and undecided seniors and receive preseason instruction, development and conditioning.

The staff has made some significant changes, which will also benefit players. The dates will now be the Weekends of Jan. 19, 20 and 26, 27. These dates will accommodate the new NCAA start date for Division I practice Feb. 1, which allows more coaches to attend, because they will have no practice conflicts. The new dates will also avoid the February vacation conflicts that have existed in the past. The format of the Husky Prospect Camp will be similar to past Clinics, but will be upgraded to feature instruction in more "Pro-Style" skills such as: base running, foot speed, strength and conditioning; IF Fungoes and throws across the diamond; OF throwing; Pitcher Bull Pens and Pitch Velocity. And the best feature, 18 Batting Cages, which will include many more hitting drills with pitched baseballs.

And lastly, the Coaches and programs represented at the Husky Prospect Camp will expand as NU hires more coaches as Clinicians. Although all coaches are prohibited from actively recruiting at camps/clinics, you will have "One on One" instruction as you move from station to station.    Players will have the option to "Flip Flop" sessions week to week, in order to meet specific coaches.

The following coaches have committed to being clinicians at the Prospect Camp. Dates and sessions will be updated as coaches confirm their schedule. We will be adding 5-8 coaches in the next few weeks.
