Priest earns CAA Co-Rookie of the Week honors
Oct. 12, 2009
Boston, Mass.
Redshirt Freshman Lizzie Priest (North Vancouver, British Columbia) was
named CAA Co-Rookie of the Week today after a pair of shutouts last
week. On Friday, Priest posted four saves in a 3-0 win over Towson, and
then followed suit with another four-save shutout Sunday against No. 17
Delaware.
Priest has not allowed a goal in over 156 consecutive minutes, backstopping the Huskies to five straight wins. In 13 games, Priest has posted an impressive 1.59 GAA, good for the second-best mark in the CAA. The redshirt freshman is also tied for second in the league in shutouts (2) and shutouts per game (0.15).
Priest joins fellow British Columbia natives Crystal Poland (Crofton) and Nicola Graham (North Vancouver) as the third Husky to earn CAA Rookie of the Week honors this season. Northeastern players have now earned at least a share of the award in four out of the seven weeks this season.
Priest and the Huskies return to action on Wednesday against Connecticut at Boston College's Newton Campus Field at 7 p.m.
