STORRS, CT - Sophomore Fior D'Alize Arrindell scored two goals including the game-winner in overtime as Northeastern defeated the eighth ranked Connecticut Huskies 2-1 Wednesday night at Storrs, Conn.

Arrindell took a pass from sophomore Sarah Broderick at 12:36 of the extra session and beat UConn goalie Alana Linick.

Early on the game appeared as if it was going to be an offensive showdown, as both teams scored goals in the game's opening minutes. The NU Huskies got on the board first, on an Arrindell score on an assist from freshman Sara Webber at 2:10. UConn came right back and tied the game at 4:34 of the first half on a score by Megan Ware.

But after that, the defenses and goalies took over, as neither team scored again until Arrindell's tally in OT. Kathleen Madaus made 7 saves in net for Northeastern and her counterpart, Linick, finished with 10 stops for UConn.

The goals for Arrindell were her team-leading ninth and 10th of the season. With the win, Northeastern put a stop to UConn's three-game winning streak. The Huskies are now 9-8 on the season, while UConn falls to 12-5.
