AMHERST, MA - After spotting host Massachusetts a 1-0 lead, Northeastern scored twice in the final 15 minutes for a 2-1 win over the Minutewomen.

Lindsay Abbott put UMass ahead 1-0 with 17:55 left in the game. NU would even the score on a penalty corner by Lorna Dobbie from Krisanne Duchemin and Aleisha Bemis at 13:37. And less than four minutes later, freshman Sara Webber scored her first career goal on an assist from sophomore Sarah Broderick.

It was NU's first win over UMass since a 3-0 victory during the 1997 season. NU improves to 1-1, while UMass falls to 2-1.

Junior Kathleen Madaus got the start in net for NU and came up with three saves, while Zowie Tucker made four stops for the Minutewomen.

The Huskies next travel to California for a pair of games, both to be played at Stanford. On Friday, NU will play Cal and then on Sunday, the Huskies will take on Stanford.
