STANFORD, CA - In a game dominated by defense, that went scoreless into a second overtime, Fior D'Alize Arrindell picked the right time to collect not only her first ever goal as a Husky, but also her first ever points. The sophomore defender scored on a penalty corner at 11:25 of the second overtime to give the Huskies a 1-0 victory over 19th ranked Stanford. The win completes a two-game west coast trip for NU, as the Huskies defeated Cal 3-0 on Friday Sept. 8. Junior Kathleen Madaus went the entire way in net for Northeastern, making six saves for her 12th career shutout. In the games in California, the NU defense did not allow a goal, and after surrendering five in the season opener versus Michigan, the Huskies have allowed only one goal in the last three games. NU improves to 3-1 by winning its third straight game, while the Cardinal fall to 4-4. The Huskies return to Boston for a seven-game home stand that begins next Saturday against Quinnipiac.
