| 2002 Schedule/Results Northeastern 3, Holy Cross 0
Senior Fior Arrindell scored the game-winning goal and assisted on another, as host Northeastern downed Holy Cross 3-0 under the lights at Sweeney Field. The 11th-ranked Huskies dominated play, outshooting the Crusaders 25-5 and holding a 17-3 penalty corner advantage. NU improves to 4-0, which is the program's best start ever, while Holy Cross falls to 1-3. "It was a good win," said Husky coach Cheryl Murtagh. "I think we pressured them well. I thought the Holy Cross defense and goalie did a good job keeping us off the scoreboard. But, we also need to finish more when we get that many opportunities." Sophomore Liane Dixon, the 2001 America East Rookie of the Year, returned to form, netting the Huskies' other two goals. In the first half, Dixon received the ball inside the Holy Cross circle and craftily outmanuevered Crusader goalie Jennifer Corsilli to put NU up 2-0 with 8:20 left in the first half. Dixon's second goal came at 19:56 of the second half. Arrindell sent a crisp pass from the top of the circle to Dixon, who one-timed the ball into the back of the net. Arrindell put the Huskies up 1-0 by whacking a corner home in the eighth minute of action. Leigh Shea and Mari Creatini assisted. Creatini has a point in every game this season and now has seven points in four games this season. Senior Emily Roy recorded her third shutout of the season for the Huskies, stopping two shots, while Corsilli had 13 saves. Northeastern hosts 14th-ranked Boston College Wednesday at Sweeney Field (4 p.m.). Scoring
