Three Huskies earn NFHCA All-Region honors
Freshman Crystal Poland and sophomores Kaela Barker and Carolyn Malloy were named to the 2009 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Region teams, as announced Thursday. Poland and Barker earned spots on the All-Northeast Region first team, while Malloy was named to the second team. This is the third straight year that Northeastern has placed at least three players on the All-Northeast Region teams.

Three Huskies take home CAA postseason honors
Sophomore Kaela Barker and freshmen Crystal Poland and Nicola Graham
were awarded CAA postseason honors on Friday at the conference's annual
banquet. Poland took home three honors, including the CAA Rookie of the
Year award and earned spots on the All-CAA first team and All-Rookie team.
Graham was also selected to the CAA All-Rookie squad, while Barker
received an All-CAA second team nod.

Huskies fall to James Madison in double overtime
The Northeastern Huskies (9-9, 3-4 CAA) lost a heartbreaker on Sunday
at the hands of No. 11 James Madison, 3-2 in double overtime. Freshman
Tori Lindsay scored the game-winner at the 93:14 mark, lifting a
rebound over Husky keeper Lizzie Priest off a penalty corner. Sophomore
Carolyn Malloy and freshman Allie Conti scored for the Huskies, who
were eliminated from CAA postseason contention.

Field hockey match vs. VCU postponed
The Northeastern Huskies' field hockey game against VCU on Friday, Oct. 30 has been postponed due to VCU health issues. The date and time of the make-up game has not been determined. Northeastern returns to action for a must-win game on Sunday, Nov. 1 vs. No. 11 James Madison on Senior Day at Sweeney Field.
Huskies roughed up by No. 11 Drexel
The Northeastern Huskies fell to the Drexel Dragons on Sunday afternoon, 5-1 at Buckley Field. Sophomore Carolyn Malloy scored the Huskies' lone goal with 1:23 remaining in the game to spoil the Dragons' bid for the shutout. Junior Jen Cairone notched a hat trick for Drexel and junior Christina Mastropaolo recorded her sixth straight game-winning goal. Northeastern returns to action on Friday, Oct. 30 vs. VCU at Sweeney Field.
