Hazelzet named CAA Player of the Week Oct. 22, 2007 Boston, MASophomore Suzanne Hazelzet was named Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week for field hockey, the conference announced on Monday. Hazelzet propelled the Huskies to a 7-1 victory over
Hofstra on Sunday as she scored three goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist for seven points in the game.
Hazelzet has started in all 17 games for the Huskies this season and has been a steady presence for Northeastern’s back line. Earlier in the season, Hazelzet scored goals in back-to-back games against Delaware and Towson. She leads the team with five goals and 11 points overall.
The Rotterdam, Netherlands native attended the Wolfert van Borselen School, where she led the field hockey team to the indoor national championship and outdoor runner-up finishes in 2003 and ‘04. Hazelzet led the team in goals in 2003 and ‘04 for both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Northeastern has an overall record of 7-10 and is 3-3 in conference games, which ranks fifth in the
Colonial Athletic Association. The team hosts No. 8 James Madison on Friday at Sweeney Field in Boston, Mass.
