The Huskies set new team records for points in a half (49-0 lead) and points in a game with their 63-14 win over Albany at Parsons Field. The Huskies outgained the Great Danes 480 yards to 209. Sophomore Tim Gale rushed for 1-yard touchdowns on NU’s first three possessions for a 21-0 lead at the end of the opening quarter. He became the first player in Husky history to rush for three TDs in a quarter.
For the second straight week, the Huskies went into cruise control after intermission after building a massive lead. Gale left after the first quarter with a broken right thumb, but sophomore newcomer Peter Harris took over and ran for 107 yards and two scores in his debut. Quarterback Logan Galli connected on just two of his first six passes, but then completed 10 in a row and ended up finishing 12-17 for 223 yards with two TD passes.
Dave Klemic had four receptions to break the NU record for career receptions of 153 set by Dan Ross from 1975-78. Klemic now has 157 receptions. Converted QB Kurt Abrams, continued his impressive start at strong safety, recording a team-high 10 tackles.
