Cassidy, a product of a pair of football powerhouses, has served as Shawn Brady’s backup the last two seasons, spelling him 12 times and starting once. He is expected to challenge Brady for the starting job this year.

2003: Played in six games...got his first career start against Stonehill, completing 7-of-8 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns, including a career-long 34-yarder to Marc Thomas, in one half of action...came in for an injured Brady in the Hofstra game, connecting on 5-of-12 passes for 92 yards.
2002: Relieved Brady seven times...played nearly three quarters at William & Mary, completing 12-28 for 101 yards and his first TD pass as a Husky, a 20-yard play to Cory Parks...made the A10 All-Academic Team.
Before NU: Lefty QB played at Michigan for two yaars but didn’t appear in any games...redshirted in 2000...two-year starting QB at Fork Union Military Academy...led team to state title both years...was 20-3 as a starter...first team All-State and All-League pick as a senior captain...Fork Union totals: 128-220 for 2272 yards, 28 TDs and three interceptions...All-State in baseball.
