Luke Ewalt joins the Huskies coaching staff as the wide receivers coach. Ewalt spent the last three seasons at Johns Hopkins University. From 2005-06, he was the quarterbacks coach and video coordinator before becoming the running backs and tight ends coach in 2007.

With Johns Hopkins, Ewalt coached a rushing attack that averaged 145.1 yards a game. His coaching also helped lead the Blue Jays to the most effective red zone offense in the Centennial Conference; they scored on 92.6 percent of their red zone opportunities.

Prior to his time with the Blue Jays, Ewalt was an assistant coach at his alma mater Jacksonville University. In 2002, he was the wide receivers coach and then became the quarterbacks coach in 2003. Working with the quarterbacks, Ewalt helped implement a no-huddle spread offense that broke the school records for passing yards and passing touchdowns in 2003. His quarterback in that system broke most of the school’s individual passing records.

Ewalt graduated from Jacksonville in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications.
