Harris missed the bulk of two straight seasons with injuries, but returned as a capable reserve in 2002. He will compete for carries in a crowded backfield in his final season. 2002: Played in eight games...ran nine times for 41 yards against Lock Haven...had solid back-to-back games against Rhode Island (eight rushes, 48 yards) and then Harvard (season highs of 14 carries and 68 yards)...also caught a career-high four passes for 29 yards and a TD in the URI game...had a key eight-yard catch on the final drive of Richmond game, helping set up Miro Kesic’s 57-yard, game-winning field goal.
2001: Rushed three times for total of two yards at Hofstra...knee injury cost him the rest of the season...qualified for medical redshirt.
2000: NU’s leading rusher in the two games he played...ran for 107 yards and two TDs on 21 carries against Albany and 52 yards at UNH...out rest of the year with a hamstring injury.
Before NU: Attended Northfield Mount Hermon in 1997-98...played football at Foothill Community College following his prep schooling...named Foothill Student-Athlete of the Year for football in 1999-2000...one of the nation’s top high school running backs from 1993-96 at Brockton High...senior captain...an All-Scholastic pick three times...named state Player of the Year as a sophomore and senior...led Brockton to ’96 Super Bowl title with 197 yards and two TDs in the title game...averaged 250 yards and three TDs a game as a senior...set school records for TDs in a season (32), career rushing yards (5273), yards in a single game (409) and TDs in a single game (six).
