Chris Ostrowsky begins his third season as an assistant coach at Northeastern University, his first as the quarterbacks coach and his second as the recruiting coordinator. Ostrowsky served as running backs coach his first two seasons with the Huskies.

Ostrowsky has coached a pair of incredibly talented tailsbacks over the last two seasons. In 2008, Ostrowsky mentored Alex Broomfield, who led the team with 1,216 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns. In 2007, his main threat was tailback Maurice Murray, who piled up 1,421 yards and 14 touchdowns en route to breaking NU’s career rushing records.

Ostrowsky came to Boston after spending three seasons as the offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Widener University in Chester, Pa. At Widener, Ostrowsky helped lead the Pioneers to back-to-back South Atlantic ECAC Bowl championships in 2005-06, and he coached an offense that finished either first or second in every statistical category in 2006. In 2005, his offense helped establish 27 school records.

Prior to his stint at Widener, Ostrowsky coached at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., serving as the offensive and recruiting coordinator. He also has head coaching experience, leading the football program at East Side High School in Newark, N.J., from 1997-2001.

Ostrowsky, 36, was a two-year quarterback at New Jersey City University from 1989-90 and earned his bachelor’s degree in History from New Jersey City in 1993. His wife, Jennifer Deo, was a two-time first-team All-Conference player for the Northeastern field hockey team. They have two sons, Jackson (8) and Joseph (6), and currently reside in Lexington, Mass.
