Weinstein has moved to the defensive secondary and will continue to learn the defensive system. He has shown some ability and will continue to progress.

High School: Played three years of varsity football for Tim McCarthy at Bishop Stang High School...served as team captain in his senior season, as the team completed an undefeated regular season (9-0) and won the Eastern Athletic Conference championship...twice selected to the Eastern Mass. and EAC All-Star teams in 2005 and ’06 and earned a place on the New Bedford Standard Times Super Team as a senior...named a Boston Globe All-Scholastic and earned New Bedford Standard Times Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2005 after setting the school single-season touchdown record with 25 scores...also played cornerback on a defense that led the EAC with 9.5 points against per game...helped the Spartans to an EAC title and a state runner-up finish in 2005...a two-time Fall River Herald All-Star selection...also ran track for two seasons.
