Northeastern Student-Athlete of the Week

Jason Vega • Football • LB • Brockton, Massachusetts

Huskies senior linebacker Jason Vega has been named Northeastern's Student-Athlete of the Week after a dominating performance in NU's 14-13 win over Hofstra last Saturday. Vega, a Brockton, Mass., native, had a career-high 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Vega also had the defensive stop of the game when he tackled Hofstra's Steve Probst short of the first-down marker on 4th-and-inches late in the contest.

For the season, Vega has 61 tackles, which ranks third on the team, and a team-best 7.0 sacks. He ranks fourth in CAA Football in sacks and is tied for 26th in the nation in the same category.

With one game left in his career, Vega has 134 tackles and 14.5 sacks in 40 games played. A star in the classroom as well, Vega is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection.
