Northeastern and Vermont lock up in a crucial two-game series in Burlington, Vt. this weekend as both teams desperately need Hockey East points to vault back into the conference race for the playoffs. Both games on Friday (Jan. 27) and Saturday (Jan. 28) start at 7:00 p.m. at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

No. 6 Northeastern (17-5-2, 11-2-2 WHEA) will be looking for a season sweep of Boston University on Saturday at Agganis Arena. Puck drop is 2 p.m.

The Huskies held a lead throughout much of the contest, but a late Seahawks run erased the Northeastern advantage and eventually led to the UNCW victory, 69-64. Jewel Tunstull picked up her third double double of the season with 20 points and 16 rebounds.

Men's basketball head coach Bill Coen and his staff will participate in the annual Coaches vs. Cancer “Suits and Sneakers” weekend on Saturday, when the Huskies host Hofstra. Coen will donate $1 to the American Cancer Society in memory of Bruce Wallin for every Northeastern student in attendance.

Joel Smith scored 20 points, including the game-winning jumper with 1.1 seconds remaining, as Northeastern captured a dramatic 62-61 win over visiting Delaware on Wednesday night at historic Matthews Arena.
