The Huskies will open the 2008-09 season with a matchup against IUPUI in the Michigan Regional of the 2kSports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich., at 4 p.m. The tournament announced its 16-team field Thursday, and the Huskies will play either Michigan or Michigan Tech in the second round. If the Huskies win both games in Michigan, they will advance to the semifinals at Madison Square Garden Nov. 20.

Huskies host second annual Tip-Off Dinner
The Huskies hosted the second annual Huskies Tip-Off Dinner in front of fans and alumni Wednesday night at the Alumni Center. Boston Globe columnist Bob Ryan presided over the event while Michael Litos, author of Cinderella: Inside the Rise of Mid-Major College Basketball, served as the keynote speaker. Head coach Bill Coen introduced the 2008-09 team, which returns 11 lettermen from last season. The Huskies open the 2008-09 campaign at the 2kSports Classic on Nov. 11.

Huskies announce 2008-09 schedule
The Huskies have announced their 2008-09 schedule and head coach Bill Coen has once again scheduled top competition for his players to prepare them for the rigors of the CAA. The Huskies will play at least eight games against teams that advanced to postseason play in 2007-08, including national runner-up Memphis. Northeastern opens the season Nov. 11-12 at the 2kSports Classic benefitting Coaches vs. Cancer in Ann Arbor, Mich. NU's first home game will be Saturday, Nov. 22 vs. Holy Cross at Matthews Arena.

Huskies end trip with win over Bishop's
The Huskies wrapped up their seven-game exhibition tour of Canada with a 69-47 win over Bishop's University Wednesday night in Lennoxville, Quebec. Manny Adako led Northeastern with 19 points while Chaisson Allen added 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists. The Huskies end their trip with a 6-1 record and will now look forward to the start of the 2008-09 season. Huskies fans can review the trip by reading team manager Matthew Holt's trip update.

NU tops Laval, 84-72
Five Huskies scored in double figures, led by Matt Janning's 20, and the defense forced 23 turnovers in an 84-72 win over Laval University Tuesday in Quebec City. Also scoring in double digits were Manny Adako, Matt Smith, Eugene Spates and Baptiste Bataille.

Huskies take down McGill, 87-73
The Huskies cruised to an 87-73 win over McGill University Monday night in Montreal, Quebec after Matt Janning had 30 points and Manny Adako had 23 on a perfect 10-for-10 shooting night. The Huskies also got a strong contribution from Chaisson Allen, who had nine points, five assists and five steals without committing a turnover.

Huskies beat Algonquin
Sophomore Vinny Lima had 23 points and senior Eugene Spates had 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Huskies defeated Algonquin 84-70 Friday night in Ottawa, Ontario. The Huskies never trailed in the game, improving to 3-1 on their seven-game exhibition schedule in Canada.
