Janning earns weekly CAA honors
Northeastern senior guard Matt Janning has been named the CAA Co-Player of the Week after averaging 17 points in a pair of road victories last week, the conference office announced Monday. Janning was NU's leading scorer in both victories, a 67-51 win at Delaware last Tuesday and a 75-55 triumph at Hofstra last Saturday. For the season, Janning is averaging 15.1 points a game. The Huskies, ranked a program-best No. 8 in this week's Mid-Major Top 25 poll, host Georgia State Wednesday at Matthews Arena at 7 p.m.

Northeastern powers past Hofstra 75-55
The Huskies opened the second half on a 20-3 and held Hofstra to seven second-half field goals as they ran away with a 75-55 victory over the Pride Saturday at the Mack Sports Complex in Hempstead, N.Y. The win is NU's third straight and 14th out of the last 15 contests. The Huskies also now take over sole possession of first place in the CAA with an 11-2 mark. Matt Janning led NU with 17 points. The team next plays Georgia State Wednesday at Matthews Arena at 7 p.m.

NU-George Mason Feb. 27 on ESPN2
The Northeastern-George Mason contest in Fairfax, Va., on Saturday, Feb. 27 has been selected to be televised live on ESPN2 at noon. The Huskies, who are scheduled to appear on television at least 15 times this season, will be on the ESPN family of networks for three consecutive games, starting Feb. 20 against Louisiana Tech (ESPN2), followed by Hofstra Feb. 23 (ESPNU) and ending with the Mason contest.

Tickets for CAA Championship on sale now
Tickets for the 2010 CAA Men's Basketball Championship are now on sale through the Northeastern Athletics Ticket Office. Tournament booklets, which include a seat for all six sessions of the tournament, cost $60 each. Orders can be placed over the phone at (617) 373-4700 or by downloading the order form and sending it back to the ticket office by either fax or mail.

Huskies use the three to top Delaware 67-51
Northeastern connected on eight three-pointers and held Delaware to 30 percent shooting as the Huskies squashed the Blue Hens 67-51 Tuesday at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Del. The Huskies were accurate from all facets, shooting 50 percent from the field, 53.3 percent from three-point range and 78.9 percent from the free throw line. Matt Janning led NU with 17 points and Chaisson Allen added 15. NU has now won 13 of its last 14 games and 11 consecutive meetings over Delaware. The Huskies next play Saturday at Hofstra at 4 p.m.
