Huskies ranked 13th in Mid-Major Poll

The Northeastern Huskies have been ranked 13th in the preseason Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, released by the website Monday evening.

The Huskies are one of four CAA teams ranked in the poll, including including Old Dominion (sixth), VCU (11th) and George Mason (12th). In addition, seven of NU's opponents this season appear in the preseason poll. This includes the three CAA teams plus Siena (third), Wright State (ninth), Boston University (22nd) and St. Mary's (23rd).

Northeastern is no stranger to the Mid-Major Poll. The Huskies appeared in the poll seven times during the 2008-09 season, reaching as high as No. 10.

The Huskies, under fourth-year head coach Bill Coen, return four starters from last season's team that went 19-13, 12-6 in the CAA, and won its first postseason game since 1984. Northeastern opens the 2009-10 campaign vs. Siena on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. at 12 p.m. on ESPN and ESPN360.
