Lima is Northeastern’s best perimeter threat. A pure shooter, he has a size advantage over other forwards who play the perimeter. He has a tremendous shooting touch and will compete for time in Northeastern’s frontcourt.
2008-09: Appeared in 29 games, making five starts...averaged 1.8 points and 1.4 rebounds...shot 52.8 percent for the season...scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds in a 73-60 win over IUPUI (Nov. 11)...a perfect 6-for-6 from the field and tallied a career-high 14 points against Rhode Island (Dec. 3)...scored six points and recorded four rebounds at Memphis (Dec. 31).
2007-08: Appeared in 15 games for Northeastern after joining the team midseason...finished fifth on the team in three-pointers...made his collegiate debut at George Mason, earning one rebound and one steal...scored 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting at UNC Wilmington...picked up nine points, connecting on three three-pointers, against Hofstra.
Before NU: Played five seasons of AAU basketball for Associacao Academica do Mindelo in Cape Verde...captained the squad for two seasons...named team MVP twice...helped lead team to league title in 2006.
Personal: Born Aug. 25, 1986...majoring in Mechanical Engineering...enjoys playing soccer with his brothers...played for the Cape Verde national team at the 2008 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament...Class of 2012.
