The Huskies rallied from a five-seat deficit to overtake Brown and prevail for the second straight year in the 39th rowing of the Dreissigacker Cup on the Seekonk River Saturday.
NU crossed the finish in 5:27.8 to improve to 2-1 on the season. The Bears finished in 5:28.8.
Off the start, Brown picked up a quick five-seat lead at the settle. At 500, the Bears still had a three-seat margin. However, over the second 500, the Huskies powered past Brown and took a commanding four-seat lead at halfway point. NU expanded its lead to six seats at the 1500 mark and cruised home to a one-second, three-seat victory.
