Brown takes Dreissigacker Cup April 15, 2006 Charles RiverThe Northeastern men’s crew team lost to Brown by nearly two lengths over the Charles River 2,000 meter course this morning. Brown broke a Husky streak of four consecutive Dreissigacker Cup victories and set the series record at Brown 22 and NU 20.
The boats were even at the settle, but the Bears quickly took a length lead at 500 meters and by 1,000 they had two lengths. NU was able to narrow the lead by a half-length at 1,500, but Brown regained that in the final 500 to finish at 6:02.7 to the Huskies’ 6:09.0. The Huskies’ record now stands at 1-1.
Next weekend Northeastern will host Rutgers on the Charles.
