| Huskies fall short in Dreissigacker Cup
The Northeastern University men's crew team lost to Brown University by two lengths over the 2000-meter course on the Charles River on Saturday. It was the 44th rowing of the Dresissigacker Cup, with Brown now ahead 24-20.
The Bears went off the stake boats powerfully gaining a deck lead at the settle and widening to two seats at 500. The next 1500 was all Brown, they had open water at 1000 and two lengths at 1500. Their finishing time of 5:42.0, aided by a strong tailwind, set a news record for this race on the Charles by 2.1 seconds. NU was at 5:48.9
The Brown crew, which is ranked second in the nation, remains undefeated, while NU, ranked seventh, slips to 1-1. Next week the Huskies challenge Penn in the Burk Cup with a Sunday row on the Schuylkill River.
