Huskies finish fifth in Copley Cup final April 6, 2008 Mission Bay (San Diego, CA)The men's crew team kicked off its 2008 regatta season by placing fifth in the Copley Cup final at the San Diego Crew Classic Regatta in San Diego, Calif., on Sun., April 6.
Northeastern came in at 5:44.18 and placed ahead of Stanford (5:44.4) and Yale (5:47.4), while it finished a mere 0.03 seconds behind California (5:44.15). Washington won the Copley Cup with a time of 5:39.9, followed by Princeton (5:41.8) and Harvard (5:43.9). The entire field was separated by less than eight seconds.
The Huskies yesterday finished with a time of 5:46.18 in the second heat of the Copley Cup, behind California (5:45.4) and Yale (5:45.71). Princeton finished fourth with 5:47.81, while Pennsylvania placed fifth with 5:57.15 and Purdue came in last with 6:03.78.
Northeastern next takes on Boston University in the Arlett Cup on Sat., April 12 on the Charles at 8:36 a.m.
