WRCA 1330 to carry Huskies hockey on the airwaves

On Friday, Oct. 23 for Northeastern’s conference opener at New Hampshire, Huskies Radio will begin to broadcast men’s hockey games on WRCA 1330 AM for the duration of the season.

Rob Rudnick will serve as the play-by-play announcer while Bill Doherty will provide the color commentary.

Rudnick is in his 32nd year of broadcasting Northeastern sports while Doherty is NU’s former Associate Sports Information Director. Both broadcasters have earned the Joe Concannon Award which is presented annually to an outstanding member of the media covering Hockey East, making Northeastern’s the only broadcast team to feature two winners.

For the New Hampshire contest, Charlie Bergeron will fill in for the play-by-play duties.

WRCA 1330 AM joins WRBB Sports 104.9 FM as part of a full-coverage package for Huskies hockey all season long. All home games can also be viewed live on GoNU.TV. GoNU.TV has already archived over 250 events in its first two seasons of existence.

Northeastern initiates Hockey East play at the Whittemore Center at 7 p.m. in Durham, N.H. The Huskies will then travel to Lowell, Mass. for a contest against UMass Lowell on Sat., Oct. 24 at 5 p.m.
