Before NU: Played two seasons with the Mahoning Valley Phantoms of the North American Hockey League...in 2006-07, totaled 25 goals, including two game winners and seven on the power play, and 25 assists for 50 points...helped Mahoning Valley to the NAHL championship game...scored a hat trick in the championship semifinal...in 2005-06, scored eight goals and added 13 assists for 21 points...in 2004-05, played for Pittsburgh Hornets in Midgets Midwest AAA League, netting 12 points...attended Fox Chapel Area High School...in 2003-04, led the team in goals with 26...also played varsity lacrosse and captained the team in his senior year...participated in the Under-17 USA Hockey Festival.
