NU finishes strong at Head of the Charles
The men's and women's rowing teams had strong outings at the 45th Head of the Charles regatta, held amidst falling snow on Sunday, Oct. 18. The men's first varsity boat took 10th place (15:08.614) in the championship eight, while the men's four took 15th (17:59.193) in the championship four. In the women's championship eight, the varsity took 14th place (17:27.603). The women's four took 19th (22:01.011). Northeastern Alumni had an impressive presence, as the men won the alumni eight (15:13:543) and the women placed eighth (19:00.107). For full regatta coverage, visit Row2k.
Grinold christens empacher with NU rowing
On Saturday, Oct. 17, Associate Athletics Director for Communications Jack Grinold and wife Cathy christened their new empacher on Columbus Ave. with members of the Northeastern men's and women's rowing program. Grinold has been active with the Huskies' rowing program since its inception.

Rowing to hold Head of the Charles Regatta Alumni Reception
The Northeastern rowing teams will hold the Third Annual Head of the
Charles Regatta Alumni Reception on Saturday, October 17 at the
Northeastern University Alumni Center. All alumni, friends and family of the program are welcome to attend. This year, a special boat dedication will take place in front of
Columbus Place, as the men's team will christen its newest racing
shell, the Jack & Cathy Grinold.

Bertoldo named to US Under 23 national team
Brad Bertoldo was named to the 2009 United States Under 23 National
team roster Monday and will compete at the World Championships in
Racice, Czech Republic July 23-26. The announcement follows Bertoldo’s
attendance at the Under 23 National Selection Camp held this summer in
Oklahoma City. Fellow Huskies oarsman, Mike Iannazzo, also attended the
camp.

Huskies complete strong '09 season
The men’s rowing team finished a strong 2009 season under ninth year
head coach John Pojednic, posting a 4-3 record and taking fifth and
10th at the Eastern Sprints and IRA Regatta, respectively. Northeastern also had five oarsmen acknowledged for their rowing skill and invited to U.S. National Team Selection Camps this summer.
