Northeastern 6-10-0 (1-7-0 America East) Notes: The Huskies finally captured the allusive America East Conference victory they had been so diligently hunting for all season. The win came Wednesday night, in the form of a 3-0 shutout over the Maine Black Bears. The Huskies owned the ball throughout the game, and characteristically out-shot their opponent considerably. Maine managed six shots on goal in the contest, all of which were saved by sophomore goalkeeper, Allen Lewis. Al Zaher started the scoring with just over 24 minutes to play in the first half. Zaher netted freshman Anders Hoyem's feed that came off of a deflected shot and a rebound. Two minutes later, a cross pass was deflected off of a Maine defender, and found itself behind goalkeeper Matt Cosgriff for the Huskies' second goal. With ten minutes remaining in the half, Zaher poked a direct kick over the Maine defense to score his second goal of the match. The Husky defense ensured the shutout, displaying physical play throughout the game.
